I have a solo show coming up in November at The Peacock Room in Orlando FL. I also have a group show coming in October at Mother Falcon's - Zombies II. I don't have any new work because all of the stuff I've done this year is at XL Gallery, or has been sold. So, I'm working on 3 paintings at once, and feeling a little overwhelmed.

This piece is just a couple days in. You can see the pencil study in a post below.

These are the 2 zombies that I'm working on. Above is the pencil sketch, for the newest, and below is the other. I'm only 2 days in on it, so there is a long way to go. She doesn't look like a zombie yet, but she will. You can see the blood sketch below.

"Alabaster Touch and an Arsenic Tongue, She Still Tasted Like Cotton Candy"

Distinction is pleased to announce our partnership with ArtHatch and our upcoming exhibition "Jest In Time: The Phylogenesis of Clowns" co-curated with Dio Sumagaysay that will run from from August 14 - September 4, 2010. The exhibition will feature 36 artists from around the world creating pieces centered around the theme and size 12 x 12 inches or smaller.

The exhibition will be silent auction style with all pieces starting ...at $100. Bidders will have the opportunity to take their chances and bid on the piece, for $100 or higher, or purchase the piece for the "buy it now" price stated by the artist.

The auction will begin with the preview (August 9) and go through the end of the exhibition, but the "buy it now" prices will end at 9:00pm during the reception on August 14th.

In addition the work of 35 local artists and 50+ national and international artists will be on display in our 7000 sq ft building.

The reception with live music by Oregon based Calico Jack, a baton troupe, fire dancer, beer courtesy of Stone Brewery, wine courtesy of Wien’s Family Cellars, food courtesy of Jalepeno, and lots of art lovers will be held on August 14, from 6-11pm.

Started to lay in some color today. Thin oil glazes are applied over the underpainting which, unfortunately doesn't come across very well in a cell phone low res pic.

Empire Strikes Back at Mother Falcon.....

Doing something a little out of my comfort zone. Mother Falcon is doing a group show in honor of the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. I've agreed to do a piece for the show. I just put together the sketch, and I'm getting started early. I'm going to keep this painting under wraps until the show, but I'll keep you posted on all of the details of the show in the upcoming couple months. Here's a hint: No big eyed nymphs in this piece...

I got a little more done today... This one is taking an exceptionally long time. I'm working with a very limited pallet, trying to force perspective with shaping the board, and painting on a VERY textured surface. Hopefully I'll get the jump on it tomorrow in time to finish it sometime next week. Then the intricate process of the framing begins. I'll keep you posted on the process of framing as well.

Don't know what I'm going to do with these guys, I've been playing with the scroll saw in my spare time. I basically make them the same as the Panel Box Prints. They're kinda cool. They remind me of giant Colorforms.

I'm so excited about this new project. I've teamed up with Alyson Mathes and her company Design du Jour for this brand new project. Alyson and I wondered what it would be like to blend my images with her unique purses. So we decided to see what we could come up with. Well I can honestly tell you things are looking pretty good. We've only just started the process and I can't wait to see what we can come up with.
